Custom-Fit Stainless Steel 90 Degree Elbow | 5" Seamless Flow

Product Overview

Our stainless steel elbow material is precision-engineered for high-performance industrial and commercial piping systems, delivering unmatched durability, corrosion resistance, and seamless flow optimization. Designed to meet stainless steel elbow specification standards like ASME B16.9, DIN 2605, and ANSI B16.11, this 90-degree elbow ensures minimal turbulence and maximum efficiency in demanding environments such as chemical processing, HVAC, and marine engineering.

Key Attributes

1. Tensile & Bend Strength

Our stainless steel elbow pipes exhibit exceptional tensile strength (≥515 MPa for 304, ≥485 MPa for 316L) and bend strength, validated through hydrostatic testing at 1.5× working pressure and ultrasonic inspections. These properties ensure resistance to deformation under extreme thermal cycling and vibrational stress, making them ideal for high-pressure oil and gas pipelines.

2. Identification & Marking

Each elbow is laser-etched with traceable identifiers:

  • Material Grade (e.g., 304, 316L)
  • Size (OD × Wall Thickness)
  • Certification Marks (ASME, DIN, ISO)
  • Batch Number (for full supply-chain transparency).

3. Weight Calculation

Weight (kg) =  × 1.5 (90° factor).
Example: A 5" Sch40 elbow (OD: 141.3mm, WT: 6.55mm) weighs approximately 4.2 kg. For long-radius stainless steel elbow pipes, apply a multiplier of 2.0.

4. Corrosion Resistance & Anti-Rust Mechanism

While stainless steel inherently resists rust due to its chromium oxide layer (12-20% Cr), localized corrosion may occur due to:

  • Chloride Exposure: Coastal or chemical environments can cause pitting; 316L (2% Mo) is recommended for such cases.
  • Mechanical Damage: Scratches or weld splatter disrupt the passive layer, necessitating post-installation passivation.
  • Galvanic Corrosion: Avoid contact with dissimilar metals like carbon steel in humid conditions.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Material Selection: Premium-grade 304/316L billets sourced from audited mills (e.g., AISI-certified suppliers).
  2. Forming: Hot extrusion or mandrel bending for seamless integrity; forged variants for high-pressure systems.
  3. Welding: TIG welding with ER308/316L filler rods, followed by post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) to eliminate residual stress.
  4. Surface Treatment: Electro-polishing (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm) for hygienic applications or shot blasting for industrial use.
  5. Quality Assurance: 100% radiographic testing (RT), hydrostatic checks, and spectral analysis for material consistency.

Applications

  • HVAC & Exhaust Systems: Optimized for stainless steel elbow pipes in commercial kitchens and industrial vents.
  • Chemical Processing: Resistant to acidic/alkaline media (pH 2–12).
  • Marine Engineering: Mo-enhanced 316L variants for saltwater environments.
  • Pharmaceutical & Food: 3A-certified, mirror-finished elbows for hygienic fluid transfer.
