Key Features & Benefits

  1. Ultra-High Tensile Strength
Engineered for critical structural applications, our high-tensile stainless steel plate delivers tensile strengths up to 930 MPa (Grade 2205 Duplex), ideal for bridges, industrial machinery, and offshore platforms.

  2. Corrosion Resistance
Chromium (16–26%) and molybdenum (2–3%) alloys form a self-repairing oxide layer, outperforming carbon steel in marine, chemical, and acidic environments.

  3. Hygienic & Versatile
Suitable for stainless steel suction plate systems in medical devices and stainless steel switch plates in electrical enclosures due to non-porous, easy-to-clean surfaces.

  4. Custom Fabrication
Compatible with laser cutting, CNC machining, and welding for precision components.

Technical Details

1. Tensile Strength

Tensile strength defines the maximum stress a material withstands before fracture. Our plates are tested per ASTM E8 standards, with results varying by grade:

  • 304 Stainless Steel: 515–1035 MPa (annealed to cold-worked states).
  • 316L Stainless Steel: 580–860 MPa (enhanced molybdenum content for chloride resistance).
  • 2205 Duplex: 620–930 MPa (dual-phase structure for extreme load-bearing applications).

2. Bend Strength

Bend strength ensures flexibility without cracking. Tested via ASTM E290 three-point bending:

  • Cold-Rolled Plates: Achieve 180° bends for structural components like stainless steel switch plates.
  • Heat-Treated Plates: Maintain ductility post-hardening, ideal for machinery parts.

3. Identification & Marking

  • Laser Etching: Permanent grade markings (e.g., "304," "316L") for traceability.
  • Heat Numbers: Unique batch codes linked to mill test certificates (MTCs).
  • Surface Codes: "2B" for cold-rolled, "BA" for bright annealed finishes.

4. Weight Calculation

Use the stainless steel plate weight calculator formula:
Weight (kg) = Thickness (mm) × Width (m) × Length (m) × Density (7.93)
Example: A 12mm × 1.5m × 3m plate weighs 429.42 kg.

5. Why Does Stainless Steel Rust?

While corrosion-resistant, rust can occur due to:

  • Chloride Exposure: Saltwater or de-icing agents degrade the chromium oxide layer.
  • Mechanical Damage: Scratches or welding defects expose the base metal to oxidation.
  • Low-Quality Alloys: Substandard chromium/nickel content in cheaper grades.

Applications

Industry Use Cases
Construction Bridges, building frameworks, reinforcement plates
Medical & Food Stainless steel suction plate systems, surgical tools, fermentation tanks
Electronics Stainless steel switch plates, enclosures, heat sinks
