Key Performance Attributes

Tensile & Bending Strength

The 201 stainless steel coil achieves a tensile strength of ≥520 MPa, making it ideal for structural components like stainless steel coil wire and automotive trim. Its high manganese content enhances work hardening, improving resistance to deformation under load.

The 304 stainless steel coil offers comparable tensile strength (≥520 MPa) with superior ductility (≥40% elongation), enabling complex forming for stainless steel coiled tubing in marine and chemical environments. The austenitic structure ensures excellent stress corrosion resistance.

Weight Calculation

Calculate coil weight using:
Weight (kg) = Thickness (mm) × Width (m) × Length (m) × Density (g/cm³)

  • Example for 304 Coil: 2mm × 1.5m × 50m × 7.93 = 1,189.5 kg
  • Example for 201 Coil: 1.5mm × 1.219m × 50m × 7.8 = 713.6 kg

Why Does Stainless Steel Rust?

While stainless steel resists corrosion, specific conditions trigger oxidation:

  1. Chloride Exposure: Coastal environments or de-icing salts degrade the chromium oxide layer, particularly in 201-grade coils.
  2. Mechanical Damage: Scratches during fabrication or handling by stainless steel coil suppliers expose raw metal to oxygen.
  3. Galvanic Corrosion: Contact with carbon steel or copper in electrolyte-rich environments accelerates corrosion.
  4. High-Temperature Oxidation: Prolonged exposure above 870°C weakens the passive layer.

Identification & Traceability

All coils are laser-marked with:

  • Grade: 201/304
  • Batch Code: Linked to MTC (Mill Test Certificate) for full traceability.
  • Surface Finish Symbol: e.g., 2B (Cold Rolled Matte), HL (Hairline).

Applications

  • Automotive Components: Exhaust systems, trim, and stainless steel coil wire for springs.
  • Architectural Cladding: Mirror-finished 304 coils for façades and interior design.
  • Industrial Tubing: Stainless steel coiled tubing for heat exchangers and hydraulic systems.
  • Food Processing: 304-grade hygienic surfaces for conveyor belts and storage tanks.

Manufacturing Excellence

Cold-Rolled Precision

Our coils undergo:

  1. Cold Rolling: Precision reduction to enhance surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy (±0.01mm).
  2. Bright Annealing (BA): Heat treatment in hydrogen-nitrogen atmospheres to eliminate oxidation.
  3. Electropolishing: Micro-imperfection removal for corrosion-resistant, reflective surfaces.

Quality Assurance

  • Material Sourcing: Sourced from TISCO/BAOSTEEL with ISO 9001 certification.
  • Testing: Salt spray tests (1,000+ hours) and spectrometer analysis for alloy integrity.

Why Choose Our Stainless Steel Coils?

  1. Global Compliance: Dual ASTM/EN certifications for seamless cross-border projects.
