Key Properties

Tensile Strength

Our shatterproof stainless steel plates exhibit exceptional tensile strength, ranging from 520 MPa (304 grade) to 690 MPa (2507 duplex grade). The duplex stainless steel plate series (e.g., 2205, 2507) combines austenitic and ferritic structures, achieving a balanced strength-ductility ratio. For instance, 2205 offers a minimum yield strength of 450 MPa and tensile strength of 650 MPa, making it ideal for high-stress elevator components.

Bending Strength

The bending resistance is enhanced by the material’s elongation properties (up to 40% for 310S grade). Cold-rolled plates demonstrate superior formability, with a strain hardening index (n-value) of 0.32–0.45, ensuring minimal cracking during fabrication. For applications requiring extreme durability, duplex stainless steel plate exhibits a post-heat treatment tensile strength of 1,270 MPa and maintains a 16.8% elongation.

Identification & Weight Calculation

Marking Methods

  • Laser Etching: Permanent grade identification (e.g., "304L," "2205") on the plate edge.
  • Color Coding: Optional oxide film tints (e.g., gold, bronze) for aesthetic alignment with gold plated stainless steel necklace designs.
  • RFID Tags: Embedded traceability for safety-critical elevator systems.

Weight Formula

Example: A 3 mm × 1.2 m × 2.4 m plate weighs 3 × 1.2 × 2.4 × 8.0 = 69.12 kg.

Why Stainless Steel May Corrode?

While stainless steel is inherently corrosion-resistant, certain conditions can induce rust:

  1. Chloride Exposure: Prolonged contact with seawater or de-icing salts may cause pitting in 304-grade steel. Duplex stainless steel plate (e.g., 2205) offers superior resistance due to higher chromium (24–26%) and molybdenum content.
  2. Mechanical Damage: Scratches or improper welding disrupt the passive oxide layer. Our escutcheon plate stainless steel undergoes electropolishing to minimize surface defects.
  3. Galvanic Corrosion: Contact with dissimilar metals (e.g., carbon steel) in humid environments. Insulation with non-conductive gaskets is recommended.
  4. Temperature Extremes: Prolonged exposure above 800°C degrades chromium’s oxidation resistance. 310S grade (up to 1,100°C) is recommended for high-heat zones.

Why Choose Our Stainless Steel Plates?

  1. Certified Quality: Compliant with ASME SA-240, ISO 9445, and elevator safety standards.
  2. Custom Solutions: Tailored dimensions (e.g., escutcheon plate stainless steel for decorative panels) and finishes (e.g., gold plated stainless steel necklace-grade polish).
  3. Technical Expertise: 15+ years in supplying duplex stainless steel plate for critical infrastructure.
  4. Fast Lead Time: 15–35 days post-order confirmation, backed by global logistics.
  5. Post-Sale Support: Free corrosion-resistance guides and RFID-based traceability.
